HOUSES and MOTTO’S
Astrologically speaking, the word “house” is used to give each sign its own “space.”
There are twelve astrological signs, so there are twelve houses.
These twelve houses show what we need to learn about ourselves:
-Our light side characteristics (the virtues in us)
-Our dark side characteristics (the vices in us)
Houses are “stage of life characteristics” of the sign to which it belongs.
They, they are important to know so that we may understand the way astrology works in our lives:
-What we are/our astrological motto: (the “I___”)
-Our function: (the “therefore I am your_____”) are found within all of the twelve houses-each step of the way that we evolve.
A house in astrology does not necessarily mean we (our individual personalities) are products of all the light side and the dark side characteristics within it. Think of us as gardens for the house. The house itself was already built on its own foundation, and what we bring to it (whether light side or dark side characteristics) are the furnishings for the house.
Conceptually speaking, the constellations are a kind of circle, starting with the first house: (Aries) the “selfish” house of defiance. To grow is to evolve from Aries’ house through to Taurus>Gemini>Cancer>Leo>Virgo>Libra>Scorpio>Sagittarius>Capricorn>Aquarius into the twelfth house: (Pisces) the “selfless” house of submission.
As with any stage of evolution, in order for step 1 to get to step 2, step 1 will have had to have been the experience of itself-first before evolving to step 2. In order to move on to step 3, you will have had to have experienced and become apart of step 1 and step 2. Step 4 will have had to have become apart of and experienced steps 1, 2, and 3 and so on.
The same is true with the sign’s houses.
Aries evolves to>Taurus evolves to>Gemini evolves to>Cancer evolves to>Leo evolves to>Virgo evolves to>Libra evolves to>Scorpio evolves to>Sagittarius evolves to>Capricorn evolves to>Aquarius evolves to>Pisces.
The twelve houses stages of dark side characteristics are for us to acknowledge as being apart of our personological makeup. From merely being human, although we may not completely eradicate our dark side characteristics; acknowledging them as being vices is something that upon display, we can re-direct where we are virtuous: our light side characteristics (as we journey through the houses).
While journeying from house to house, the occupant still runs his own house, although through journeying, the visitor will possess some likeness from the previous house during their journey from the 1st-12th house (as does any form of evolution).
Come on, let’s journey…
ARIES-whose motto is “I am” therefore I am: environmental experiences, the physical self and personality. I am personal interests, ego and structure of the physical self/physical body. I am the stage where the character mask is worn. I am firstborn and my approach to the world is like that of an infant. “I am” because I am all that I know, which like an infant, is why I am selfish by nature.
I am the FIRST HOUSE, the world & everything is about Me! Me!
Until I have come to terms with my Aries dark side, I will embody these characteristics: selfish ego, competitive, foolhardy, hot-headed, uncontrollable, self-centered, opinionated, accident-prone, self-gratifying, always putting myself first, wants everything now, quick tempered and impatient, impulsive in action with no regard for consequences, pugnacious, a satirist, thoughtless, aggressive, feisty, restless, inconsiderate, demanding and exhausting.
There is no other sign in the zodiac that is as selfish in every way like me because this is my house. If I acknowledge and make peace with my dark characteristics and am a product of all my light side characteristics; it will lead me to my higher self: enthusiastic, positive, courageousness, bold, highly energetic, adventurous spirit, fervent, initiatory, spontaneous, direct in approach, impulsive, instigating, lives in the mind, freedom loving, free-spirited, heart-tugging innocence and wander, blind faith, raw courage, assertive, innovative, optimistic, enterprising, self-motivated, lively and outgoing and excitable.
My next step of evolution is to visit my Taurus neighbor, share my furnishings and then pick from their garden:
TAURUS-whose motto is “I have” therefore I am: self-esteem and earning abilities, finance, possessions, and material things in life. I am security and resources. I am what you value in life alongside your very own self up to and including money.
I am the SECOND HOUSE, the baby of the bunch; who will kick and fight if you try to take my things from me. My approach to the world is like that of a baby. “I have” because all of my possessions belong to me and like a baby, I hold on to them tightly because they are mine.
Everything I see that I want is mine. Everything that I have is Mine!
Until I have come to terms with my Taurus dark side, I will embody these characteristics: stubborn, hedonistic, materialistic, unreasonable, unbending, immovable, possessive, obstinate, blind prejudice, lack of reason, resentful, deliberate, violent tempered, too inclined to hang back, self-indulgent and lazy, obsessed with routine, greedy, a potential bore, static as well as fixed with my opinions, lacking flexibility and originality, unwilling to accept change.
There is no other sign in the zodiac that is as possessive & greedy as me because this is my house. If I acknowledge and make peace with my dark characteristics and am a product of all my light side characteristics; it will lead me to my higher self: steadfast, systematic, kind-hearted, persevering, loyal, cautious, grounded, generous, sensuous, productive, strength of purpose, great inner strength, great sense of conviction, easygoing, systematic, reliable, caring, artistic, musically inclined, practical, patient, adept in business, strong powers of endurance, affectionate & warm-hearted, trustworthy, strong-willed & solid, strong sense of values (especially in relation to the arts) persistent & determined.
My next step of evolution is to visit my Gemini neighbor, share my furnishings and then pick from their garden.
(-EXCERPT BREAK-)
PISCES-whose motto is “I believe” therefore I am: your transconscious, the unknown, the deepest and most profound gifts of life. I am also sorrow, escapism, past karma-the storage place of events and consequence of past lives. I am the hidden enemy. I am the aspect of your personality that works against your best interests. I am confinement and self-abnegation. I am spiritual life, transconscious mind, hidden resources and inner/spiritual treasures. I am capable of leading a life with amazing spiritual revelations and inner guidance.
I am the TWELFTH HOUSE of submission, passivity, static and confusion, which is how I react to my environment.
Until I have come to terms with my Pisces dark side, I will embody these characteristics: retiring, unlucky, often moody, indecisive, hallucinatory, self-disillusioned, undefined, untruthful, martyred, vague, careless, secretive, easily confused, easily led, easily misled, unable to cope with the practical hustle and bustle of life, weak-willed, disordered, paranoid, powerless, ultra-sensitive, timid, apprehensive, masochistic, idle, lying, escapist, dreamy and emotionally insecure.
There is no other sign in the zodiac that can be as deceitful, disillusioned or dreamy than me because this is my house. If I acknowledge and make peace with my dark characteristics and am a product of all my light side characteristics; it will lead me to my higher self: selfless, imaginative, compassionate, kind, gentle, sensitive, reassuring, flowing, unifying, psychic comprehension, non-threatening, illusionary, romantic, spiritual, transcendent, humble, sympathetic, emotional, unworldly, adaptable, impressionable, intuitive, receptive, spiritually aware, philosophic insight and healing potential, poetic, soothing and a true visionary.
At reaching my higher self, I can receive the most profound spiritual gifts that life has to offer and share it with you, because I am the last and final house: the bearer of all of your furnishings and gifts from your gardens that you shared with each other to get to and through to my house.
It is not only a journey, but a struggle to get to this house of mine and well, since you are here, it is my spiritual duty to make peace with all my Piscean dark side characteristics so that I may show you complete submission in the form of selflessness by owning up to my motto: “I believe,”-show you that I trust and have faith in you enough to submit and be selfless.
I complete this journey.
Welcome to my humble abode…
